Boys Varsity Tennis
Out-of-season practices will begin on Wednesday, October 27, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Out-of-season practice schedule: Wednesdays from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM, Saturdays from 10:00AM - 11:00AM, weather permitting.
All out-of-season practices are optional. Canceled practices will be posted to this website, 30 minutes in advance. If inclement weather begins while at practice, or within the 30-minute cancellation window, students are encouraged to meet by the service entrance doors at the back of the school (under the roof area across from the courts) to check-in with Coach before leaving.
Rising 9th graders and Wolverines will need all required forms submitted before participating in any school sponsored tennis and conditioning activities. Turn in all forms to the Athletic Department.
All paperwork requirements can be found here: https://woodgroveathletics.org/main/otherad/contentID/35816219
COVID vaccination requirements can be found here: LCPS Student Athlete Vaccination Requirements
If you missed the Friday morning interest meeting, you need to attend the first few minutes of the optional practice on Wednesday, October 27, at 4:30 PM at the courts to pick up the information you missed. There will not be another opportunity to receive this information.
Coach B needs to know how many students are interested in participating in tennis this spring for planning purposes.
"LCPS will delay implementation of non-vaccinated student-athlete testing requirements until Monday, November 29. This means testing for non-vaccinated student-athletes will need to start on 11/29 to remain eligible to participate in high school athletics the week of 12/6. The originally announced date for winter athletes’ COVID screening testing will be moved due to delays in state-offered testing solutions. LCPS is focused on providing ample screening tests for non-vaccinated student-athletes and while we await confirmation of vendor testing programs availability at scale, will delay rolling out the testing program until November 29.
Parents/Guardians should still provide their winter student-athlete’s vaccination status to the athletics department in their school as soon as possible. This will help with contact tracing once the season starts and help further inform the needs for the testing program."
